Started off the day trying to visit the People’s Great Hall, which is the Chinese equivalent to our congress, but the Hall was closed and a session was just being let out when I was there.

Started off today by taking advantage of the clear skies, although hot and muggy, and visiting the Summer Palace. Like everything in China, it involved climbing lots of steps.

Once again I am not able to see the Urumqi museum because of it being closed on Monday. They are supposed to have some 3,000 year old mummies there. Oh well, I guess I will have to wait until I take a trip to Egypt for that one.

Today, after checking out of my hotel, I explored the famous Kashgar Sunday Bazaar. I can certainly say that it was very interesting  exploring even though it was packed with not only people but livestock as well.

Today I started off by visiting the Kashgar Idgah Mosque. The Idgah Mosque was built in the year of 846 based on Muslim calendar (1442 AD). It has been renovated many times in succession until the year of 1949. Unfortunately, the entire front face is being renovated so I was unable to take a picture of it.
