Today, I visited the Winter Palace Museum of Bogd Khaan. This was built between 1893 and 1903 and is the place where Mongolia’s eighth Living Buddha, and last king, Jebtzun Damba Hutagt Viii (often called the Bogd Khaan), lived for 20 years.

Woke up to heavy winds outside around 8:30am, although I slept pretty good and was only cold a little bit when the blanket fell off me. This was a very comfortable yurt and the first one with a bed long enough for me.

Today we started off the morning to hiking to the Orkhor Waterfall, although there was no water, due to being frozen upstream. Note the very steep rock that we climbed down to get to the lake and then climbed back up afterwards. And yes, the small mongolian boy climbed it with us on his own.

We started out today after packing up and putting our gear in the cars by driving up a mountain for an aerial view of Erdeen Zuu Khiid Monastery. It was lightly snowing for a short while.

Today was day 1 of a 4 day camping trip through Mongolia. My group consisted of 2 German girls from Munich, a Canadian guy from Toronto, a Chinese couple from Hong Kong, a guy from New Zealand, a guy from Australia, two drivers, and a guide.
