For today, I visited the local sites in town. First up was the Government Building shown above and below.

Today after breakfast, I joined two American girls, who teach english in Russia, and traveled to the Khustain National Park. The drive was about 3 hours each way on bumpy dirt roads.

Turns out that I once again wasn’t able to see the Mausoleum of Chairman Mao as it was closed for some reason although the sign in english says it should have been open today – but you come to expect these kind of things in China. No big deal missing it though.

After checking out of our hotel, we took a couple of taxis to the bus station where we left our luggage in storage so that we could catch a bus to the Wudang Lamasery. Upon trying to buy the bus tickets to the lamasery, we were told that they no longer had buses to the lamasery from that terminal and that we would have to go to a different bus station on the other side of town.
