This week we started out with more technical lectures and learning about Adobe Photoshop and LightRoom. Then on Tuesday, we got to go outside again and practice with shutter speeds.

Well, we are off to a running start this week – first of all with some more technical classes and then shooting on assignment. First up was an exposure exercise in the city park of Turners Falls.

For the first few days of class I was the first student to arrive and step through the doors of the school. The week started off a little slow in technical lectures but we were soon off and running when we were issued our Mamiya 645AFD II medium-format cameras. This was like Christmas arriving early. Everyone was so excited! We couldn’t wait to start using them.

After driving across country for 4 days from Kent, WA to Turners Falls, MA I finally arrived at the administration offices of the school around noon on Tuesday Sept. 2, 2008. Here I met most of the staff and completed my paperwork.
